When it comes to foods in New York City, bagels are definitely on the list of things to try. You can easily find bagel shops all across the city and enjoy that crispy and chewy texture right out of the oven.
This book includes a list of 48 bagel shops located throughout Manhattan, New York City. Instead of photographs of bagels, it contains a collection of their paper bags, wraps, and tissue from each location.
Process
I had an idea to create something different instead of a book solely filled with pictures of bagels. So, I started my adventure, doing research and exploring Manhattan from the uptown areas to the downtown neighborhoods. Instead of focusing solely on the bagels themselves, I realized that what sets each place apart is their distinctive branding. With that in mind, I started collecting different paper wraps from various bagel spots, adding a truly special touch to my project.The fun part of this book was to taste bagels from different places. Among my top favorites are Russ & Daughters and Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company!
Details
The entire book is also set in a single typeface with a single type size.The lists are organized alphabetically by name, and each place is color coded within its neighborhood in color bars on the side of the pages. The more locations they have, the more color bars they get.
